Breeders Terms
The sad reality of being
a breeder is that you cannot keep all of the puppies you breed.
Since we only breed when we want to keep a replacement for the
bitch, we hope to keep at least one puppy from each litter. Even
though we only have a few litters each year, those numbers add up.
And sometimes it's hard to make the right decision when a puppy is
only 8-12 weeks old. They still have a lot of growing and developing
to do, their teeth have to come in, etc. etc. etc. The solution that
has worked well for us on numerous occasions is that we sometimes
sell bitch puppies on "Breeder's Terms." The written Agreement is
very straightforward. The crux of the Agreement is that you purchase
the bitch for (x) dollars and take her home. On the bitch's
2nd or 3rd heat, I (Linda Cowasjee) will
choose a stud dog to mate to that bitch and the owner (you) will pay
for the stud fee and all of the expenses involved in whelping the
resulting litter. When the puppies are 8 weeks old I will get a
choice puppy (or puppies), depending on how the Agreement is
structured. Breeder's Terms work well for both you and me. I can
keep a bitch for breeding without having her here physically and you
get to purchase a bitch with the best bloodlines Windermere and
North America have to offer! Contact me if you are interested
in learning more details about Breeder's Terms or any of the bitches
listed with Breeders
